The Delaware Valley College Chapter of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) believes that a strong, sincere collaboration between the Chapter and the Administration of Delaware Valley College towards shared governance fosters a positive environment. Such an environment allows our students to flourish and become productive members of society. The Chapter believes that we are here to serve and promote our students to the best of our ability, while guiding the Administration in ways that support this idealism.

In addition, the Chapter endorses the National AAUP’s mission statement which is as follows: The mission of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) is to advance academic freedom and shared governance; to define fundamental professional values and standards for higher education; to promote the economic security of faculty, academic professionals, graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and all those engaged in teaching and research in higher education; to help the higher education community organize to make our goals a reality; and to ensure higher education’s contribution to the common good.
